Bath Bomb

These are a bit frivolous, but everyone needs those times, right? These were also a hit with customers, and I have to confess, I love ’em myself! These are another item that I prefer to keep in the freezer until ready to use. However, its just a preference. They will keep well in your bathroom, so long as they are protected from high moisture content!

Natural Bath Bombs

  • 1/2 C baking soda
  • 1/4 C citric acid
  • 2 tsp shea butter
  • 1/2 tsp carrier oil
  • 3 spritzes of water
  • essential oils (optional)
  • herbs or flowers combo’s of choice
    • Soothing Aroma: 1 Tbs lavender flowers & 2 tsp crumbled rosemary
    • Refreshing: 1 Tbs crumbled peppermint leaves & 2 tsp cinnamon
    • Morning Greeting: 1 Tbs coffee grounds & vanilla extract in place of water

Directions: combine powders and cut in oils. Add herbs. Mix well. Putting fingertips in water, “flick” moisture off and into bowl. Immediately mix. Repeat until powders hold form when squished in the hand. Immediately pack into molds. I’ve only ever used silicone (its an ice cube tray) and it works wonderfully!   A chemical reaction may begin taking place (particularly if you’ve used too much water) and if contents are rising, dash them away to the freezer. It will help settle everything. Leave for several hours, then remove from molds. Return to the freezer for another 2-3 days (for drying purposes) or keep ’em there until ready to use.

To use? Fill the bathtub and pop a bomb in. Watch the fizzing and enjoy the aroma that is released!
