Skin Balm

Made with oil that had been infused wild rose hips and black spruce (see Infused Oils), this recipe was adapted for the north, one that I sold as part of my skincare business. Lovely and wild in aroma, it was a favorite! As not all of us have access to black spruce, so fir needles will suffice!

Skin Balm with Rose & Evergreen

  • 1/2 C shea butter
  • 1/4 C coconut oil
  • 1/4 C beeswax
  • 1/4 C almond or olive oil infused with rose hips and black spruce needles

Directions: grate or finely dice beeswax. Place in double boiler and melt. Add shea, coconut and carrier oil. When liquidated, pour into molds or a tin. Let cool before capping. Use lightly and as needed. Is particularly great for thicker, tough skin!
